The University of Hyderabad (UoH) provides regular and integrated PhD programs in science, technology humanities and social sciences disciplines. The admission to the PhD programs is done at the national level by an entrance examination and an interview. The eligible candidates have to write the University Entrance Test (UET) conducted by the UoH in June/July every year. Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of UET are then interviewed for their research capabilities through their academic background, published work, proposed research and specialization in the relevant domain. Interview and UET scores are considered in final selection criteria as well.
The hopeful entrants must initially clear the UET of UoH, which is the university entrance test that is held every June in this university. To conclude, shortlisted applicants will be called to an interview which also gives an opportunity to assess the research aptitude through a presentation and discussion on a proposed research topic. Finally the election result is drawn from the aggregate score of the UET and interview result.
