1. CET (PAU) Exam: The Common Entrance Test organized by the university to measure their overall academic aptitude for research. The entrance exams are held in two segments for the respective subjects
2. Subject-specific Test: Taking into account the chosen specialization, subject-matter exams may be a requirement, which are responsible for testing key areas, fundamentals, and research competence.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates have to attend an interview which is conducted by a panel of experts who are from the field the candidate has applied for. Evaluates conceptual understanding and consistency of research interest.
4. PhD Entrance Test Exemptions: The candidates who are INSPIRE or other national fellowships performed well, qualification of NET or having an MPhil degree can be exempted from entrance exams and be called directly for interview.
5. Qualifying Marks: The minimum passing mark is 50% (40% for the reserved categories) of the marks in the CET and the subject tests. The university requires the applicants to pass the interview to avoid any malicious listings.
