K L University provides degree programs in full time and part time PhD across all disciplines of engineering sciences humanities and management. For being eligible for admission to the PhD programme, the candidates are required to have a Masters degree in the concerned discipline with not less than 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University. 1. Visit the university’s website or a local newspaper to read the official announcement about PhD programs. It is often published in newspapers across the country and, in some cases, on the website of the university.
2. Choose your area of interest / a discipline in which you want to do PhD. It has various disciplines such as Engineering and Sciences, Management, etc. offer its programs at PhD level.
3. Check its requisites – in most cases to qualify for one, you must hold a Master’s degree in the relevant area of specialization with passing marks. The other requirement for eligibility is that specific criteria might be set by the department.
4. Make photocopies of all documents for submission including academic credentials such as certificates and transcripts, employment letters (if any), articles (if any), statement of purpose, etc.
5. PhD application form and submit it as required in the advertisement or in University website must be filled. 1. Check Eligibility: Candidates should have passed their post-graduation in any relevant stream with minimum marks of 55% in their CGPA. It is recommended that they should be awaiting their results so that they can present their certificates when they secure a job.
2. Entrance Exam: The college may admit students based on passing the entrance examination that is set by the university. It usually covers areas involving research skills, numeric/ordinal skills and other areas where one is expected to reason.
3. Interview: The candidates who meet the minimum requirement of the entrance exam will be invited for an interview in front of a board. In the interview, the candidates are tested on the area of special interest, knowledge, and their general suitability to do a PhD. Other skills such as communication abilities, research aptitudes etc. are also assessed.
4. Final Selection: Finally the students are selected according to their tests, group discussion and they are shortlisted according to their merit and interview. In certain cases, weightage has been provided to the scores obtained in the post-graduation examination.
5. Admission Confirmation: The successful candidates will be given an offer letter from the KLU. You must follow the admission procedures, sign the admission letter, make the school fees, and any other requirements as and when due.
