The University offers PhD programs in all the faculties of Agriculture, Veterinary Science, and other allied disciplines at Junagadh Agricultural University (JAU). The minimum qualification criteria for admission to PhD is a master’s degree in the concerned subject with not less than 55% marks or equivalent grade. The admission for PhD programs begins with the announcement of the admission notice by the respective universities. Applicants have to complete the application form provided and attach the necessary documents before the stated deadline. 1. You need to check the university website or advertisement to get the PhD information and note that your eligibility criteria are being met. List down the vacant slots, concerned majors available, etc.
2. Locate the PhD application form on the university website, or get it directly from their office. Read through very carefully, mark and make some annotations.
3. Mechanize your application by giving in true the requested personal information, academic details, and research specifications. Include this statement on your application with scanned documents of the relevant documents.
4. Complete and submit the application form enclosing the required application fee (if any) as per guidelines in the given notification before the deadline.
5. Proceed with entrance test, if it is available. It is required candidates who have qualified and will appear in front of the interview panel as per given schedule.
6. If you pass, the process of admission goes on with you paying the required fees and submission of applicable documents within the stipulated period. Take PhD program as an instruction provided by the university.

1. CUCET: The national common university common entrance test is a comprehensive examination held for the admission process to different central universities and their constituent institutions. The CUCET scores are a must if JAU is the preference for PhD admission.
2. A candidate must pass the ICAR-NET conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research to be able to be a Lecturer as well as to be eligible for a scholarship for bidding a PhD in agriculture and allied sciences.
3. JAU also expects candidates to qualify ILC Pre-PhD exam, organized by the institute at its divisional centers by concerned authority. It tests for scientific aptitude, content knowledge, and cognitive ability.
4. There are three criteria to select students for interview: the performance in CUCET, ICAR-NET and state exams. The university research committee and subject experts conduct the interviews.
5. Narrating a presentation during an interview before the committee is a requirement for anyone seeking to proceed with their research plan/proposal. The aspirant has to exhibit the best attributes that will justify the competence of the research, which they intend to undertake.
