The Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) administers a variety of entrance examinations on the national level to its postgraduate and doctoral courses. It is useful for getting admission to M.V.Sc. Through the All India Entrance Examination for P.G. students, which is abbreviated as AEE-PG. and PhD programs across 17 disciplines including Veterinary Microbiology, Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Parasitology etc.
AEE-PG is offered to the holder of B.V.Sc. General Category: A post graduate degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Agricultural Engineering with minimum 60% marks. The exam has 200 multiple choice questions which measure logical thinking, analytical skills and subject matter content knowledge. Candidates are assigned disciplines and campuses such as Mukteshwar, Bengaluru etc based on scores and choices The institute also conducts ICAR’s National Eligibility Test (NET) which acts as the common entrance examination for admission to Ph.D. courses in agriculture universities in India including IVRI.

1. To the IVRI's website directly (www.ivri.nic.in) go, and click on the admissions page of the Academics section. The online application tool link is here.
2. Establish the user account and register yourself by entering your personal, contact, qualifications and other necessary information.
3. Make your selection - the training programs offered by IVRI are in the field of veterinary medicine, animal science and biotechnology and these are in the form of postgraduate masters and PhD.
4. Choose to pay application fee online (or take slip for offline fee payment).
5. Submit the digital version of your documents such as photograph, signature, educational certificates, caste certificate if otherwise applicable in the specified format.
6. Seek understanding for the application form, completing it carefully with all the college and working experience you may have.
7. Please fill in and post the IRVI admission application form before mid-October.
8. Obtain and save as many copies of the finished form as you may need it for later reference. On the other hand, you will also receive an application acceptance letter.
9. Checking the admission portal frequently is advisable for the important examination details and other updates to be kept informed and updated. Just in case of an interview/test call-up, turn up for the concern.
10. They can enroll for counselling as well as final admission after checking out shortlisted candidates names that will be posted on the website.
- The eligibility for admissions into IVRI is done through national level entrance exams such as AIEEA (All India Entrance Examination for Admission), which is administered by NTA (National Testing Agency), or JRF/SRF based on exams conducted by ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research).
- However, students need to pass two entry tests, one is the Yeiam test and the other is the Jamaat test separately, for seeking admittance to various academic programs at IVRI such as MVSc, PhDs etc. There is no direct online admission process.
