IIT Gandhinagar has PhD programs in science and engineering covering a wide range of subjects from the sciences, engineering and the humanities. To be able to apply for the PhD admission, the candidates will need to have a master's degree in the relevant field with at least 60% marks or CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale. Notices will be served twice in a year via the newspaper and our institute website when applications will be accepted. After the shortlisting is done, they will have to go through a written test and interview.
The selection process evaluates the candidates on such factors as conceptual knowledge, research aptitude, communication skills etc. Those who pass the written exam are invited to an interview by a departmental committee. The final choice includes considering the candidate's performance in written test, interview, academic record and knowledge of research potential/experience.
