The PhD admission process is a two-step procedure consisting of an entrance test and then an interview which are both conducted by the university. The test of the written entrance exam evaluates general research aptitude, subject knowledge, and analytical abilities of the applicants. The interview panel consisting of the Dean, HoD, and the staff members is allocated to the shortlisted candidates after the test scores are verified. The interview in the first place is used to assess the candidate's interests, goals, the basics of the subject, research orientation and competence to perform the advanced research.
Candidates are selected depending on their strength in the test, interview and their academic background and the necessary experience within the field. PhD candidates who are selected will be required to finish required classes at the same rate during the first or second teaching semester. Then, the selected students will have to start their doctoral research under the supervision of individual supervisors. The total time for the PhD program is usually between 4 and 6 years which includes the coursework, research, and thesis writing phases and ends with a pre-submission seminar and the final viva-voce examination.

1. Look through the requirements of the university pertaining to educational achievements, scores for the entrance exams, and other rules. Be sure you meet all the requirements before applying.

1. GGUET: Gokul Global University Entrance Test is the principal PhD admission test conducted by the university itself. It tests one's ability to do research and the how much one knows about the subject.
2. UGC NET: The National Eligibility Test (NET) is offered by the University Grants Commission for a JRF/lectureship and is mandatory for PhD admission in GGU for students with JRF/Lectureship.
3. GATE: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a PhD admission requirement in engineering/technology disciplines to evaluate critical thinking skills.
4. CEED: Establishing a common Entrance Exam for Design that will test design aptitude and also an essential requirement for Design PhD admissions along with a valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) score.

6. PhD batch follows the university academic calendar only as for the starting in the academic year. Sign up for orientation program and have meetings with your supervisor to explain your research project and start your research work.
