Entrance Exams Required for University of Calcutta PhD Admission 2024

1. Candidates are required to have the CUET (Calcutta University Entrance Test) certificate that they have passed in order to be qualified for PhD admission. The test is designed to examine the research skills and the knowledge of the subject.

2. Besides that, the candidates can also qualify the examinations like UGC NET, SET, NET, GATE, etc. in the subject they want to do PhD in so that they can meet the entrance test eligibility. 

3. Candidates with a qualification of UGC JRF/CSIR NET JRF are not required to take the entrance test and can directly apply for PhD admission.

4. Possessors of Masters degree should have at least 55% marks or the equivalent grade to be qualified to take the PhD entrance exams. Resting for the reserved category candidates as per the norms.

What is the University of Calcutta PhD Admission Procedure 2024?

1. Go to the university website for the PhD admission notification and download the application form when it comes out, usually in May/June. Submit the paper with required information and materials along with the form.

2. Take a written entrance exam scheduled by the universities in June/July. Thus, the exam which is scored above qualifying level allows you to reach in the interview round.
