KSU offers a range of programs in Sanskrit, Indology, Yoga, Indian Philosophy and allied disciplines at the undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels. Most programs require merit in the qualifying examination for admission into the programs offered by the university. For general undergraduate courses like BA in Sanskrit or Hindu religion and philosophy, the candidate should have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination with 50% or above. Admission is given strictly on merit in the 12th standard examination.
The mode of payment is automatically an online with the major credit/debit cards, net banking and UPI. After the application is filed, the department of admissions takes over the application processing. Finally, candidates who meet initial screening criteria are notified about next step that may be written tests, or personal interview. Notification lists of the final merit winners are available to be viewed on the website. The allotment letter for the provisionally selected students can be downloaded from the school website and their admission can be approved by paying the prescribed academic fees within the stipulated dates. They have to then present the original certificates at the university for verification of documents and clearing the formalities of enrollment.

- It is distance and open-mode program, where students can study various courses though on-distance education.
- Distance learning institutes do not ask the students to take part in the entrance exams.
- The admissions are solely based on the qualifying marks earned in the 10+2 or graduation examination, which depends on the diploma course chosen.
- Users are required to submit their application online and attach scanned documents of their certificate of qualifying exams and other contents.
