Karnavati University provides both Full-Time and Part-Time PhD programs in various disciplines such as Management, Engineering, Architecture, Design, Law, Pharmaceutical Science, Physiotherapy, Applied Science, and Computer Applications. The basic requirement for admission into a PhD programme is a master’s degree with at least 55% marks or CGPA equivalent. Candidates are expected to attach a proposal for a research study in the form of the application form with a mention of their area of research interest in general.
The candidates who qualify the screening test are called for the entrance test and interview session. 1. IGNOU conducts an entrance examination for enrollment to doctorate programs. It is an academic test that determines admission. The assessment is in two forms: a written part and then an interview.
2. The test for the written exam evaluates the students' analysis skills, ability to understand topics in a comprehensive manner and the fundamental knowledge of the subject.
3. The candidates with a high written test score are invited for the interview round. Students' research, aptitude and interest potential's are examined by a panel in this place.
4. Besides the IGNOU admission test, it is a requisite for candidates to qualify either UGC NET, CSIR NET, teacher fellowship test or any other national level equivalent examination.
5. Students holding a MPhil certificate from a recognized institution are exempted from the examination, i.e., they are directly eligible to apply for PhD. But they surely need to go for one.
6. The final selection is made taking into account the candidates' combined entrance exam and interview performance as well as their academic record in their postgraduate examination.
